Mr. Selvakumar is a Managing Director and the Head of Strategic Projects and Change Management in the Ares Investment Operations Department. Prior to joining Ares in 2021, Mr. Selvakumar was a Director at KKR, where he initially focused on strategic projects and later served as the Head of U.S. and APAC operations for KKR's credit and public markets businesses. Previously, he was a Partner and COO at G2 Systems (acquired by GFT) and G2 FinTech (acquired by KPMG), both of which provided software and services to firms in the alternative investment management industry. In addition, Mr. Selvakumar was a Vice President on the Financial Strategies Team at Countrywide Financial, where he focused on residential mortgages and also worked at Carlson Capital, a multi-strategy hedge fund, in various roles including quantitative research and equity trading, convertible bond modeling and software development. Mr. Selvakumar began his career working in software development roles at several technology firms. He holds a B.S. from Cornell University College of Engineering in Computer Science and an M.B.A. from the University of California Los Angeles.
