Controller

Mr. Cuellar joined Ares in August 2009 and serves as Controller for Ares Capital Management. Previously, from June 2006 through August 2009, Mr. Cuellar was with Metropolitan West Asset Management where he served as the Assistant Treasurer and Principal Accounting Officer for the Metropolitan West Funds.  From 1998 through 2006, Mr. Cuellar managed the Alternative Investments Group at Western Asset Management Company.  From 1995 to 1998, Mr. Cuellar worked for Deloitte & Touche LLP where he was a Senior Auditor in their Financial Services Group.  He specialized in audits of investment companies and broker dealers. 

Mr. Cuellar graduated from California State University Northridge with a BS in Accounting.  Mr. Cuellar is a Certified Public Accountant.
