The Ares Private Debt Group provides integrated private debt and non-control equity financing solutions to the middle market. The Private Debt Group’s Partners and Managing Directors average more than 15 years of relevant middle market lending and leveraged finance experience. The Private Debt Group is divided into two dedicated investment teams: Ares Capital Corporation (Nasdaq: ARCC) in the U.S., a publicly traded company managed by Ares Capital Management LLC (an affiliate of Ares Management and an SEC registered investment advisor), and Ares Capital Europe Limited (ACE).

Ares Capital Corporation is a closed-end, non-diversified specialty finance company that is regulated as a Business Development Company. ARCC is one of the largest public business development companies with approximately 90 portfolio companies sponsored by more than 60 private equity firms.

ACE: Ares Capital Europe

Ares Capital Europe manages our Group’s Pan-European private debt activities. ACE is a privately held finance company that has brought innovation and flexibility to the European middle-market by actively promoting a unique unitranche facility in tandem with other senior and subordinated debt products.

The Private Debt Group manages approximately $13 billion of committed capital as of June 30, 2010, including certain credit facilities. We provide one-stop financing solutions to meet the distinct and underserved financing needs of private middle market companies. Our flexibility, structuring expertise and direct origination capabilities enable us to invest across the capital structure and meet our clients’ full spectrum of financing needs. As a result, we self-originate and structure the majority of our investments.

As a patient long-term investor with permanent capital, the Private Debt Group has developed a reputation for originating creative structures, a willingness to hold large allocations, and an ability to offer sponsors and management teams greater certainty of execution.
